We try to keep ticketing simple, but with so many venues it can get confusing. Please read the following carefully to learn about where and how to get tickets to our film screenings and Forum events, plus info on Festival and Delegate Passes.

Here's where to get your tickets for film screenings presented at the following venues.

All SJIWFF29 events have general admission seating. All ticket prices include tax and surcharges. There is very limited or no free parking at our venues, besides The Rooms and Scotiabank Theatres (Avalon Mall). Please show up early as there will be absolutely no latecomers for all film screenings.

Tickets are available via the LSPU Hall Box Office. Please note that the LSPU Hall Box Office closes 4pm on October 17 and 21, and a satellite Box Office table will be open at Scotiabank Theatres 6pm-7pm on these dates. Tickets may be picked up or rush tickets purchased here.

The screening takes place in one of three cinemas, general admission. Tickets: $25.50 regular admission, $20.50 students/seniors. Festival/Delegate Passes are not valid.

LSPU Hall

The LSPU Hall is our Festival Headquarters and main Festival Box Office.

You may purchase tickets here for any screenings happening at the Hall. You may also buy a Festival Pass or register to get your Delegate Pass here. 

Bring your Pass to obtain tickets for all screenings at the LSPU Hall as well as Forum events. Read more below.

RUSH TICKETS: In the event of a sold-out screening at the LSPU Hall, any unclaimed complimentary tickets or Delegate Passholder tickets will be released a half hour prior to showtime to the rush line. First come, first served. Festival and Delegate Passes are valid to claim rush line tickets. 

HALL HAPPY HOURS
During the Festival, filmmakers and audience members are invited to join us 5pm-6:30pm Thursday-Saturday for drink specials and other surprises at the LSPU Hall. Get your tickets early, beat the lineups and enjoy products by Quidi Vidi Brewery - official beer of SJIWFF.

Tickets to Forum events at NIFCO: $20.50 regular admission and $15.50 for students/seniors.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to event. There is no free parking. Seating is limited.

Tickets to Forum events at NIFCO must be bought via the LSPU Hall Box Office and are NOT available for purchase at the door.

You may also purchase a Festival Pass at the LSPU Hall which garners you entry to regular Forum events at NIFCO. Please read more about passes below.

The Festival Pass includes all regular film screenings at the LSPU Hall and The Rooms, as well as all Forum events at NIFCO. Festival Passes do not include admission to the Opening and Closing Night Galas, the MUN Cinema screening or the Forum Lunch Panels at Rocket Bakery. These must be purchased separately.

Our Festival Pass offers unmatched value and access to film screenings as well as giving you access to engaging panel-discussions and networking opportunities as part of our [Interactive] Film Industry Forum. Festival Passes can be purchased through the LSPU Hall Box Office.

How to exchange your Festival Pass for Screening & Forum Tickets

To obtain a ticket for any SJIWFF screening or event, present your Pass at the appropriate box office. The Festival Pass is not a screening ticket and does not guarantee ticket availability. As screening tickets are limited, please show up early the day of screening to obtain your printed ticket from the LSPU Hall Box Office. Tickets may be reserved in advance through the LSPU Hall Box Office by phone or in-person. There will be absolutely no latecomers for our screenings.


Did a screening sell out before you were able to reserve tickets?

Delegate Pass

We are happy to offer a Delegate Pass to all industry leaders featured on our Forum panels as well as to all filmmakers whose work we are screening. All local and visiting Delegates are required to register at Festival Headquarters and pick up their Delegate Pass, which will be needed for all events. Please read the following carefully:

Delegate Passes are not for sale, but if you work in the industry you may purchase a Festival Pass and contact us by October 6th to be added to our Delegate event guest lists.

Festival Headquarters

Festival HQ is located at the LSPU Hall in the Cox & Palmer Second Space. You can stop in for Delegate Registration, coffee, schedules, WiFi, merchandise and more! Plus, it’s at our main box office venue which is a bonus! Audience members are invited to join us for Happy Hours at the Hall, 5pm-6:30pm Thursday-Saturday.Our Volunteers and Staff are here all Festival week to help.

 

How to exchange your Delegate Pass for Screening & Forum Tickets

To obtain a ticket for any SJIWFF screening or event, present your Pass at the appropriate box office. As screening tickets are limited, please show up early the day of screening to obtain your ticket from the venue's Box Office (please see details above.) Delegate Passes DO NOT include admission to the Opening and Closing night screenings or the MUN Cinema screening. These tickets must be purchased separately.

There will be absolutely no latecomers for our screenings. Please show up early. Accessible venues are highlighted above.

Your Delegate Pass is NOT a film screening ticket. To obtain your screening ticket present your Pass at the appropriate box office. Tickets may be reserved in advance through the LSPU Hall Box Office by phone or in-person. Tickets must remain at the box office until the day of the screening. All Delegate Passholder tickets (and complimentary screening tickets) must be picked up at least a half hour before start time. All tickets remaining a half hour prior to showtime will be released to the rush line.

50¢ from every SJIWFF29 ticket purchased from the LSPU Hall will be donated to the Cultural Artists Plan for Emergencies (CAPE) Fund, a special fund for cultural arts workers in Newfoundland and Labrador experiencing exceptional emergencies or crisis. The goal of CAPE is to build a steady revenue stream to fund as many emergency requests as possible.
